I have been in Sweden for a few week on vacation. Managed to get several really good open water swimming sessions done. So that was great. After that my plan was to focus more on my running for a week while in Stockholm. However my leg cramps that I have been struggling with for a while on and off has come back. This basically forced my to rest completely for over a week. I’m back home now and did go for a run the other day. I didn’t cramp but it was close, and I only ran 5 miles. Thats not even close to the 13.1 I have to do on Sunday, after swimming 1.2 miles and biking 56 miles. So I’m not feeling extremely confident about that part. I did however get out on a shorter but somewhat more intense bike ride and that felt really good.
On top of this I have a mild cold. Nothing bad so I can actually still train but it’s definitely affecting my performance. Although I do think I’ll be all good by Sunday.
If I don’t cramp I’ll beat 5:30 on Sunday at the Big Kahuna Triathlon in Santa Cruz.
