Lots of biking last week. After another 50 miler on Friday that was just as tough as the one I did Wednesday. It was really hot and I was pretty spent after the ride. Had plans to go or a short run but gladly canceled those plans. It was my wife’s birthday so we indulged in delicious food and wine instead.
The birthday celebrations continued on Saturday. Went with a big group up to Sonoma to drink some wine. We had tastings booked at a coupe of places and a picnic table reserved at a winery called Imagery. The only training happening on my part this day was a game of horseshoes.
Hot weather on Sunday but the long run had to happen. I planned it poorly and ended up running the18 miles during to hottest time of the day.
I’m probably supposed to rest tomorrow but since I took Saturday off I think I’ll do an easy swim. Not that many weeks left to go now. My fitness in definitely improving. The question is if it’s improving enough. Need to get some more longer bike rides in and a few longer runs to feel more confident.
