PR or no PR

So I’m not sure I’m doing the right thing here from an IronMan training perspective. I’ve had a couple of weeks with lower amount of training due to some travel and weekend trips. I’m also traveling all of next week so that will be further impact.
However I’m running the Oakland 1/2 marathon on Sunday and the goal is to if not beat at least get very close to a PR.
Given the IronMan training I obviously haven’t really been training specifically for a good 1/2 marathon. However I feel that I am in pretty good shape and should be able to go pretty fast.
Given the workouts during this week I have decided to taper for 2 days. Had a tough bike workout on Wednesday and a run-swim-run workout on Thursday. I’m feeling a bit slow today so I decided to rest. Doesn’t make sense to workout tomorrow on the day before the race. So let’s see what happens on Sunday. I’m excited for the race. Will push hard for a PR but not too hard, I don’t want to get injured or mess something up.
